We
were so impressed with the beautiful Lagoona Davina that we went
back there for another 2 nights at the end of our holiday and
had the place to ourselves! The staff were so helpful and accommodating.
Nothing was too much trouble for them. They even went to the
train station for us and bought tickets for the overnight train
that we were going on for the next part of our journey! It really
was a mini-paradise. We had daily massages, yoga and meditation,
swam in the lagoon, ate the most gorgeous food and were completely
blissed out!! Perfect for a relaxing, get away from it all break.
Although if you like walking and exploring, this is not the place
to be. 2 or 3 days at the beginning of a holiday are perfect
to help you unwind and get in the holiday mood. Quite rustic
accommodation though. Not for people who like shiny 5* hotels.

After
we were picked up at the airport in a gleaming Ambassador, festooned
with Jasmine flowers, and dropped off at the river whereupon we
were taken on a magical 45 minute boat ride, to be dropped off
Lagoona's door where we were welcomed with a delicious ayurvedic
cocktail The location was dreamy, and we particularly enjoyed swimming
across the lagoon to watch the fisherman pulling nets up on the
beach, waves crashing. Lounging on the beds overlooking the lagoon,
the wonderful food, and particularly the impeccable and charming
service - were just some of the charms on offer. Lagoona Davina
was the highlight of the holiday - particularly because my boyfriend
proposed to me there! My boyfriend colluded with the staff to make
his proposal perfect, and Davina and the staff even prepared a
cake with our names on it, which they presented complete with sparklers
and song! It usually takes me days to relax properly on holiday,
at Lagoona Davina the effect was almost instant! Stay as long as
you can! You can do tours from the hotel and the cabs are very
cheap. The day long trip was a little too much for us, so try a
half day instead. The meditation teacher was excellent - I wished
we had had time to try reiki and yoga as well.

Fantastic location
and wonderfully attentive staff who make you feel like you're really special.
So nice we returned again at the end of our trip as well as the beginning.
Will definitely return one day.

Wonderfully relaxing
place to stay. Very attentive but discrete service. Great to have yoga, massage,
reiki etc. so accessible. Davina is a fabulous hostess. Can't imagine that you'll
find a better place to stay.

Top marks for
service, fantastic place for single travellers, as you are made to feel special,
and welcome. Will definitely have to go back with my boyfriend, it's the perfect
place for honeymooners, and those looking for a romantic retreat to get away
from the hassle of every day life. Almost everyone I met there had no idea what
day it was! Staff are very helpful in sorting any trips, pandering to your needs,
even posting things back home! After a week of staying there I was spoilt, and
nowhere else quite compared! The personal touch is also a wonderful part of the
stay. Davina is a wonderful host, inspiring, and fun. what more can I say? I
will be back, and would recommend it highly. Don't expect the luxuries of jacuzzis
and satellite TV, but what you get in return beats those five star hotels hands
down. The perfect recipe for a holiday. The ingredients being excellent service,
good food (a set menu), beautiful setting, trips out, all mixed in the pot with
a dose of India's magic. I will always remember sitting over looking the water,
gin and tonic in hand watching the sun set over the beach through the palm trees.
